Bug-Inspired Font Project
A font group inspired by the interesting shapes of insects and paired with fresh feminine color palettes. These letters work great as illuminated initials and pair well with the loose energy of a scrawling calligraphy font. The beauty of these letters come, in large part, from the way the insects bodies have been so playfully distorted to create such a clean and recognizable set of letters.

Project Proposal
Imagery inspiration for Abercrombie and Fitch was based on the chic, textural landscapes of the Amangiri hotel located in Utah. The rich beauty of this landscape (featured below) set the mood for the project. Imagery is grounded in understated, modern styling that shows off the quality of the clothing and their fabrics. Natural tones of grey and camel are offset and energized with moments of lime and orange. Graphically fonts are bold and uncomplicated inspired from the coolness of Christopher Wool paintings and "The Face" magazine covers from the 90's.

Project Proposal
Gilly Hicks is a youthful brand that makes clothes you can live your life in. So let's go have some fun! These are clothes you can dress up or dress down; anything goes as long as you're showing off what makes you unique. The location of the BeltLine in Atlanta serves as brand inspiration. Like the BeltLine, Gilly Hicks is an inclusive brand where we all come together to have a good time. Skater kid culture serves as inspiration for attitude. It's all about trying new things and doing what makes you happy, even if cutting your own hair turned out to be a bad idea. Artist Jonas Wood serves as inspiration for a color palette filled with playful and lively hues. His paintings also inspire through showing how objects can create personality and tell a brands story. So text your friends and lets hang out!

Color Story

The color story for this project is inspired by the eclecticism of graffiti and the bold flat colors found in paintings by Jonas Wood. Warm tonal browns (Almonds) and cream (Dew) come together with blues, purples and greens to tell a story that is youth-driven, on trend and visually joyful without ever feeling forced or overly considered. I wanted to ensure the color palette felt fun and energetic, while still keeping a relaxed tone.

Graphics Project
Carhartt Work in Progress designs clothes that are practical, well-made and up-to-date on trends in fashion. This brand DNA became the foundation for my group of graphic designs. Carhartt's rich history was exciting to explore, reference and build upon throughout the project. The brand's powerful slogan, "Hard at Work Since 1889" resonates now more than ever, when everyday life is a busy journey for us. My project uses this slogan, the brand's vintage garment tags and graphics that speak to this history of hard work performed in well-made clothes. I paired this with imagery found in American Traditional tattoos; imagery that is bold and memorable while also being refined and updated. The end result is a group of graphics that are fun, contemporary and impactful, while also showing respect and admiration for Carhartt's roots.

Coffee Shop Branding Exercise
Direction for the graphic design of this coffee shop came from the simple notion of cars needing fuel and people needing coffee. Inspired by the beautiful curves of vintage cars, the designs for this project are clean and playful. The slogans and designs give nods to my concept of coffee as fuel in smart and strategic ways. The curves of the road on the 'to-go bag' design are fluid and reminiscent of the steam rising from a warm cup of coffee. The 'menu' design is visually grounded using a large curving shape that could resemble the shape of a car door or perhaps an aerial view of a race track course. The brand's typeface takes on stylized curves with an added lightning bolt to give movement and energy to the design. The color palette is warm and simple. A foundation color of raw brown and a deep teal-green create a feeling of ease. A sky blue adds optimism and freshness while accents of a bright orangey-red create small moments of excitement for the eye. This is a coffee shop that you can stop by in a hurry on your way to work or come by with a friend and stay for a while.

Freelance Logo Design
Branding Design for Miami Apparel Design Company
"Flaca Flamingo Designs."

Below to the left is the client's initial sketch. The brief requested the word Flaca incorporated in the logo, suggesting the 'F' of the word 'Flaca' to also be the body of a flamingo. The client requested the flamingo had feathers whose color could be easily changed without ruining the overall design. For this graphic design I chose a tall, stylish font to play off of. The font matches the fluid lines created by the flamingo and offers a contemporary, clean and approachable look.

Hippie Royale was a warm weather clothing company that I co-founded in 2018. The brand was inspired by the heat of Miami and the fabulousness of up-cycling. The brand began from creating dresses out of vintage t-shirts and grew from there. While working on Hippie Royale, I was in charge of the creative direction and implementation of photoshoots, social media and e-commerce content, creating the brand's website/e-commerce platform and graphic design for product.
