My work is textile-based, using materials including secondhand clothing to create work about community and connection between people.  I use printmaking on my quilt pieces to add imagery (both photographic and abstract) to the pieces of fabric, often using pictures of arms and legs that I cut out from magazines.  My thread paper pieces are entirely made from thread sewn over itself using a sewing machine.  It's a very labor-intensive process where I construct the paper from thread and then hand embroider onto it.  I embroider things that I am thinking about at the time, almost like doodling, and it becomes a meditative experience where I can sit with my thoughts.
